Active skeletons are wearable exoskeletosn designed to enhance Sam’s mobility, strength, and endurance during deliveries and his expeditions, offering strategic advantages for traversal, cargo management, and evasion in difficult terrain or hostile encounters.

Overview[]

These skeletons are high-performance wearable systems powered by Sam’s battery. Each model is designed to enhance a specific function: movement speed, load-bearing capacity, or stability. When active, these skeletons allow Sam to move more efficiently through the varied terrain of the post-Stranding world—whether trudging up steep hills, hauling heavy cargo over long distances, or sprinting to ensure timely deliveries.

Skeletons must be fabricated at an Access Terminal. Upgraded versions become available as Sam connects new facilities to the chiral network and progresses through deliveries. Only one skeleton can be worn at a time, and like other equipment, they can be stored on Sam’s back. This allows him to swap between skeletons as needed, provided he has them on hand and in good condition.

Skeletons draw from Sam’s battery, and overuse—especially when sprinting or under heavy load—can quickly drain power. Staying within energy zones on roads or using generators to recharge is key to maintaining functionality on extended deliveries. If a skeleton’s battery is depleted, it remains equipped but provides no active benefits until recharged.

List[]

The following active skeletons can be fabricated, each offering distinct performance benefits:
