Automated Public Assistance Company, abbreviated APAC, is a private group that operates and manages the chiral network and APAS on behalf of the UCAs.
Story[]
After the formation of the UCA, rapid advancements in communications and delivery technology enabled the automation of logistics, rendering human porters largely obsolete. With its primary mission complete, Bridges was officially disbanded and its infrastructure and tasks handed over to the private group APAC, who fill the distribution gap within the chiral network using delivery bots (instead of the humans) and the APAS 4000. Not only UCA facilities come under APAC control but also the few ones established in Mexico, even if not yet connected to the network.
At some point, the man currently serving as APAC president is chosen by APAS to be the new president of UCA, succeeding Die-Hardman and making his presidency the shortest in history.
In the following months, it was discovered that the chiral network had generated a gate from Mexico to Australia, confirming to the UCA and APAC that other continents had survived the Death Stranding. At this point, APAC launches an expedition through the gate, arriving in Australia to support local initiatives and establish facilities and terminals in anticipation of a possible future connection to the chiral network, believing that a new plate gate will appear in Australian territory once full chiral connection is achieved.
When the plate gate fully formed after Sam brought Mexico into the chiral network, APAC makes the decision to extend the coverage of the chiral network to Australia, with APAS determining that Sam and Fragile, with her Drawbridge, have the highest probability of success for the venture, with the UCA in no way involved in the expansion project. By connecting Australia, APAC, with the help of APAS, wants to take a step forward in restoring the world to how it was before the Death Stranding, where "everyone is part of a larger whole".
APAS 4000[]
The Automated Porter Assistant System, officially called APAS 4000 but often simply referred to as APAS, was originally developed as a support program for porters making deliveries within the chiral network. However, the chiral network's ability to instantly transfer huge amounts of data meant that APAS quickly developed and was soon managing and operating deliveries autonomously.
Thanks to the chiral network's use of the Beach, where time barely passes, APAS has become more than just a delivery system, becoming involved in all areas of life, from children's education to healthcare to the selection of government officials. The APAS is so efficient that it can measure public opinion in real time and then determine the most appropriate action plan, leading to the adoption of a new model for electing the leaders of the UCAs, which consequently no longer have a presidential system.
With the formation of the plate gate to Australia, during Sam's expedition to the UCA first and then to Mexico, APAC starts the project to expand the chiral network in the Australian territory, so that APAS will have enough data to calculate the locations of other connection points between continents, and will then be able to extrapolate the position of the land masses.
APAS Enhancements[]
APAS can improve and upgrade the equipment and tools used by porters, and are tailored to each porter after careful performance analysis. To implement upgrades, spending APAS memory, a porter must complete multiple orders and upgrade their porter level also increasing the chiral bandwidth increases the number of upgrades that can be used simultaneously. The five categories in the porter system are: Porter, Combat, Stealth, Servicemanship, and Bridge Link.
APAS upgrades can be initiated with local processing, allowing them to be used even outside the chiral network, but they cannot be added or modified without network coverage.
Logo[]
The APAC logo consist of a compass rose with 16-points, which can represent the same number of winds: the eight principal winds and the eight half-winds. At the free center space, the company's monogram logo consisted of a large capital 'A' with an P on the left, an A in the center and a C on the right half. Grotesque are present at the base of the compass rose on the left and right and below the inscription Automated Public Assistance Company, the company full name.

Notes[]
- APAC logo, especially in the central part, has a strong resemblance to the United East India Company logo, also know as the VOC. It was a powerful company, possessing quasi-governmental powers, international slave trade and operating in Eurasia (active mainly in Greater India and the Asia-Pacific region) and Southern Africa.
