Central Knot City was a city in the United Cities of America and the sister city of Capital Knot City which was destroyed in a massive voidout.
History[]
Following New York City's destruction at the beginning of the Stranding, Central Knot City was chosen as the base for the relocation of what was left of the American government. It is from here that the newly elected president, Bridget Strand, began the BB experiments, the founding of Bridges, the relative HQ and the initial phases of what only later, thanks to the help of Mama and Lockne, will become the basis for her "reconstruction" plan: the Chiral Network.
Presumably this is where Sam Strand, the president's adopted son, lived his childhood. At some point, a former presidential's guardsman see a younger version of President Strand standing in the President's official residence. A facade explanation was given to the guard but the rumors of supernatural hauntings of the private residence continued.
It is from here that, three years before the events of the game, the Bridges I expedition led by Amelie, the president's daughter, started with the goal of convincing isolated communities across continental America to join the UCA and connect to the Chiral Network. With the rise of separatist activity on the the eastern seaboard, it became too dangerous for President Bridget Strand to continue operating from the city. In response, Bridges covertly shifted its headquarters to Capital Knot City, Central's sister city, while maintaining the public belief of Bridget's continued occupancy in Central Knot City, and initiate a, succesfully, chiral link between the sister city.[1] Three years after the Bridges I stopped at Edge Knot City, due to a terrorist group intervention, Bridges finally tracks down Sam and orders him to deliver smart drugs to the distribution center just outside the city. On the same day, a necrotized corpse is found and team 6 of the Bridges' Corpse Disposal division, led by Igor, is tasked with bringing the corpse to the nearest incinerator. For the occasion, Igor put Sam under contract, as the owner of the DOOMS, to check the state of necrosis.
Unfortunately, they would enter a BT-infested area, experiencing timefall, with their vehicle stalled for a short amount of time, and after starting again would be overturned by BTs, causing a crash. Igor was then "eaten" by a colossal BT, triggering the voidout that destroyed Central Knot City, leaving only a crater, Sam, and BB-28, behind.
Following the event, to avoid panic for citizens, Capital Knot City would ultimately be fully recognized as the new seat of power in the UCA.
