Charles Khan is a really upbeat and cheerful members of Bridges and the head of distribuition of the Waystation North of Mountain Knot City.

History[]

Charles Khan was one of the members that Amelie choose for the first westward expedition and, just like the others, he was a fervent supporter of the reconstructionism promoted by Bridges. During the expedition he was assigned the role of head of distribution of the Waystation North of Mountain Knot City. At first, the area was relatively quiet, with Khan and his team managing to converse with isolationists, separatists and others in the area without major problems, with the only ones causing problems being the MULEs and the BTs.

Khan saw the growing problem of the Homo Demens, with whom there was no dialogue, and the damage they did to the area, which worsened with the leadership of Higgs, who Khan knew was a porter before begoming a terrorist. During this period of terror people began to think that Bridges and the UCA were the "bad guys", which culminated in the destruction of Middle Knot City by the Demens, even if the fault fell on the Fragile Express.

During the period of isolation Khan would frequently go out to scan the horizon, managing to see unusual and strange things, and even to trace the fluctuations of the chiralium in the area, and consequently the BTs. At some point he heards rumors about the destructions of Central Knot.

With the coming of Sam during his expedition and the connection of the waystation to the Chiral Network, Khan not only can finally contact the HQ, know what happened on the continent during the three years of isolation and use the Odradek in his reconnaissance, even if they are no longer necessary.

Notes[]

  • Based on the clothes he wears, Charles appears to be part of the Bridges Security Team.
  • During his outings and reconnaissance, Khan's vision has developed to such an extent that he can see further than any others and perceive fluctuations in chiral density. This makes him probably the only character who can "feel" BTs without having the DOOMS.
