On December 15, 2022, a film adaptation of Death Stranding was announced by Hideo Kojima, who partnered with Alex Lebovici's Hammerstone Studios to produce the film alongside Kojima Productions US and Allan Ungar as Executive Producer[1]. A reddit user found a possible easter egg DS film in the Kojima Productions website, showing an hidden poster of th A24, an American independent entertainment company, with a "strand" design similar to the one of the games, suggesting a possible production or collaboration.[3] The partership is later confirmed by the A24 official shop and from a post on the Kojima Productions website.[4][5] With a post on his X account, Tommie Earl Jenkins, Die-Hardman in the game, confirm that the movie version will "takes a different look into the universe with new characters", suggesting a new story and characters in the DS universe, so not a movie versione of the game, and a probably recast for some characters.[6]
