Maser Gun

The MA-MRG mod0 Maser Gun is an experimental, non-lethal anti-personnel weapon, developed by Bridges, that Sam can use to defend himself against enemies.

Overview[]

The MA-MRG mod0 utilizes the MASER effect—produced through the interaction of chiral and magnetic fields—to generate a concentrated electrical charge. Rather than delivering lethal force, the maser gun incapacitates its targets, offering a non-lethal alternative for porters engaged in combat. This greatly reduces the risk of human casualties, and by extension, the threat of voidouts or the appearance of BTs.

In addition to stunning human enemies, the maser gun can temporarily disable vehicles, functioning similarly to the electrified poles used by MULEs. This makes it particularly useful for disrupting enemy transport during ambushes or escapes. Its effects are further amplified when discharged near water, creating an area-wide shock that can incapacitate multiple targets at once.

Renders human targets unconscious, and temporarily immobilizes vehicles. The maser gun is effective over a wider area if discharged near water.

The design data for the gun is given to Sam as a reward for completing [Order No. 77] Collection: Cargo Discovered in the Ruined Factory.
The Maser Gun is exclusive to the Director's Cut of the game.
The maser is a real device that produces coherent electromagnetic waves, through amplification by stimulated emission.
