Middle Knot City was a city in the central region of the United Cities of America, which was targeted and then obliterated by a terroristic attack.
History[]
Middle Knot City was built after the Death Stranding, in the central part of the region, at the foot of the snowy mountain range that divides the central region in two and the last part of the highway Route 21. During the Bridges I westward expedition, led by Amelie, the expedition team was able to convince the city to join the UCA and connect to the Chiral Network, with an unknown staff member appointed as the Head of Distribution of the facility.
At some point the Craftsman, a prepper who lived outside the city, had a workshop in Middle Knot, near the shopping mall, from which he spent his time making tools.
Due to the distance and isolation from the HQ, the city often used the services of the Fragile Express for deliveries and supply. Unfortunately, for this very reason, Higgs, a member of the Fragile Express but also a leader of the terrorist group that began to operate in the region, managed to have an unknowing Fragile introduce a thermonuclear warhead into the city, posing as cargo. Unfortunately, before she could do anything, the bomb exploded, destroying the city and leaving only ruins, which were later infested by the BTs.
Following the incident, talks about Fragile Express collaborating with terrorists begin to spread, ruining their reputation.

- In the official artbook there was a city called Hound Knot City, also destroyed by a voidout and whose ruins are present near the old shopping mall. It is likely that the Hound Knot was the name before changing to the Middle Knot.
- Middle Knot City is a city, together with Mountain Knot, in the UCA that does not have a K suffix, caused by the voidout.
