The Mountaineer is a Prepper and delivery recipient of Sam's. He lives with his wife and his baby son.
Story[]
Background[]
A fervent believer that human beings are not destined to live in one place forever, and that exploration is in their DNA, at a certain point he decides to leave the city and climb the highest mountain, to see beyond the clouds chiral. On his climb he is accompanied by an expert mountain guide, with whom he falls in love and with whom he conceives a child.
Sam's Westward Expedition[]
When Sam is attempting to connect all the preppers in the Central Region to the chiral network and get them to join the UCA, the Mountaineer's wife becomes sick, presumably due to complications from pregnancy. The Mountaineer requests for Sam to deliver him some antibiotics for her, but when these fail to treat the Mountain Guide, Sam delivers a specialized chiral printer made by the Doctor to their shelter, which allowed the Doctor to treat her from afar. This saved her life and allowed her to carry her baby to term. Even if I don't agree at first, thank's to Sam's action, the Mountaneer decide to join the UCA, he even gets worried about him during the climbs in the mountains of the central region. Some time later, she gives birth to a boy. They name him "Sam" in the hope he will be able to connect people like Sam is doing. As a sign of gratitude for his actions, the Mountaineer makes Sam a chiral version of the climbing anchor to help him trough his expedition.

- The Mountaineer's bunker is the only one in the game where a baby lives, and the only one containing a complete family with a couple and a child.
- Given the location of his shelter, the Mountaineer is likely to come from Mountain Knot City.
