Rainy is a member of Drawbridge and part of the DHV Magellan's crew.

Story[]

Background[]

Rainy was born, in what later become the UCA, with a form of DOOMS that caused her to trigger timefall whenever she stepped outside and as a result she was ostracized throughout her life. After her parents kicked her out due to her condition, she lived life on the run: nobody would take her in on account of her condition, and some even went as far as trying to kill her, calling her the "witch". In desperation, she joined the UCA surrogacy program in hopes of finding purpose as a mother, but she was still left alone.

On the run and pregnant, during a moment of relative tranquility, Rainy finds a children's toy but is discovered by the mob who begins stoning her. Tired of the harassment, she tries to fight back but is stopped by Bridges security guards who order her to leave. With no one on her side she can count on, Rainy leaves. Luckily, she was found by Fragile before she attempted suicide, and was convinced her condition could be helpful when directed correctly.

Australian expedition[]

Six months later, Rainy arrives in Australia through the Plate Gate with the APAC expedition and is tasked with restoring the now nearly desert-like environment to its pre-Stranding state, establishing her refuge in a mountain let just north of Rainbow Valley, one of the places she is restoring the natural environment. In addition to caring for the surrounding environment, Rainy uses her shelter as a greenhouse to restore the local flora and fauna, such as a sub-species of rainbow lorikeet (which are later discovered to be highly intelligent).

After Sam connects West Fort Knot to the network, he is tasked with delivering the terraforming equipment to Rainbow Valley and so connecting the facility. This eliminates Rainy's presence and allows her to return to the DHV Magellan.

Physical description[]

Abilities[]

Rainy suffers from DOOMS which causes her to trigger timefall, that constantly surrounds her, whenever she goes outside. However, within a one point five meter radius of her body, a different kind of precipitation is obeserved, called "corefall", which restores whatever it touches to its previous state. The corefall as the power to heal and repair both objects, as observed through the windshield of a car, people, such as Fragile's body, animal and plant life. Rainy's DOOMS allows her to be immune to the effects of timefall and presumably to sense BTs.

Raini has also proven to have an excellent green thumb, as evidenced by the lush plants in her shelter, and to be able to look after various animal species.
