Ring Terminals are wearable computers that can be worn on any finger. For Sam, this replaces his cuff links that he used when working with Bridges.

- According to Kojima, while the cuff links in the first game symbolized connection, they also represented restraint. The new ring terminal continues to represent connection—but this time, a more personal bond with others. Kojima also notes that the way each character wears their ring is intentional, as the choice of finger reflects aspects of their personality.[1]
