Thermal pads are a piece of equipment that warm Sam during traversal of snowy areas, resulting in reduced stamina drain in cold weather, but increased battery drain. They also allow Sam to sleep in cold weather without dying, as long as they are active. The greater the number of thermal pads, for a maximum of 4, the greater the effect, however this reduces the quantity of cargo Sam can carry on him.

| Thermal Pad | A device attached to the shoulder or hip that will activate automatically in snowy conditions in order to keep the wearer warm. Wearing thermal pads will reduce the degree to which snowy conditions drain Stamina, and will increase the amount of Stamina restored by drinking from the canteen. They will also enable the wearer to rest in snow without freezing. Onboard batteries will also contribute to overall battery capacity. The more units used, the greater the effect, but the less cargo you will be able to attach to your suit.
Thermal pads will drain battery when activated. Be sure to keep an eye on your battery levels. The battery will gradually recharge in sunny or cloudy weather. |
