Villa Libre is a small settlement in Mexico and delivery recipients of Sam's.
Overview[]
Villa Libre is a small settlement located near the northern border of central Mexico, south of Border River, in which several preppers have gathered for safety.
People gathered for the first time in Villa Libre shortly after the Death Stranding, helping each other survive, and the strong bonds they formed helped them overcome the most difficult times. However, an inexplicable event struck them: they had difficulty conceiving children, and those who were born often died young. Over time, the inhabitants of Villa Libre aged, until eventually only the elderly remained. The presence of a bandit camp just south of them was also a cause for concern and at some point, mysterious creatures appeared in the area surrounding Villa Libre, keeping the bandits away but making it difficult for the inhabitants to leave. As a result, they lost almost all contact with the outside world.
At one point, a female member of the nearby bandits is kicked out of the group because of her pregnancy and finds refuge with the elders of Villa Libre who welcome her, and her unborn child who appears to have stopped growing, with open arms.
Post-UCA Establishment[]
During his expedition to connect Mexico to the chiral network for Drawbridge, Sam is asked to deliver a remote medical unit to Villa Libre, as there is no local doctor in the area, in order to help them and at the same time gain their trust. At one point, they asks Sam for help in recovering 4 beloved walking sticks, washed away in the floods near the bandits camp and a handmade picture book deep in the forest, near the mountains.
