Yoji Shinkawa is a Japanese artist/illustrator, in particular a lead artist at Kojima Productions. He is most famous for his character, environment and mechanical designs for the Metal Gear series and Zone of the Enders series.
Shinkawa worked for Konami Digital Entertainment from 1994 to 2015. After the subsidiary Kojima Production's disbandment in 2015, he left Konami with Hideo Kojima to become the lead artist and character, mechanical and environment designer of the reformed Kojima Productions, as well as the art director of Death Stranding.
Notes[]
- Shinkawa designed Kojima Productions' mascot Ludens and, by extension, the studio's logo.
- Shinkawa found that working with actors for Death Stranding (in contrast to his work for the Metal Gear series) made his creation process easier, allowing him to get a better idea of the characters, as well as the actors that portrayed them.[1]
